- To provide the tools necessary for quantitative assessment of forest stands in tropical countries
- To improve skills in data analysis and use of biomass models.
Course contents
- Course
- Dendrometry: the main quantitative parameters of tree and stand assessment; techniques and methods; construction of volume tables (cubing rates); production and potential of tree stands
- Inventories: types of inventory and sampling, case studies
- Application to the inventory of a Mediterranean forest (practical work), including
- development of the method
- data collection
- data analysis
- report writing by groups.
